Flour & Grape is an Italian Restaurant on Bermondsey Street serving fresh handmade pasta. I absolutely love Italian food and in particular fresh pasta.
The menu is small and simple which is ideal for me. They have several small plates to share as starters. These include the bread selection, the burrata (my fav to start), the salami and chopped “Fassone” beef. On a previous menu they’ve have njuda bruschettas which were incredible.
For main, there is just a choice of eight fresh pasta dishes. I recommend getting a couple of plates to share as the pastas are so good, you definitely want to try more than one. My favourite pasta is their taglierini with truffle, butter and cured egg yolk. It melts in you’re mouth with just the right level of truffle flavour. I also really rate the fettuccine with beef ragu. Lastly for dessert, both the cheese board and the chocolate and hazelnut budino are delicious.
There is a fantastic wine list which is also kept simple and even a gin bar downstairs for a pre or after dinner cocktail. My main recommendation for Flour and Grape is you need to get in early for dinner especially on a Friday or Saturday. They are walk in only but all the spots get taken up very fast.
