Based in Coals Drop Yard in Kings Cross London, Hicce is an amazing bar/restaurant serving up delicious sharing boards, hot sticks and modern dishes. Bringing together the talent & expertise of 2017 Great British Menu winner Pip Lacey and Gordy McIntyre. Therefore with Pip’s flair for good food and Gordy’s knowledge about drinks, guests can expect a really special dining experience.
I was super impressed at the range of different dishes and drinks on the menu with so much imagination behind them. Also, I absolutely loved their cocktail list with a trio of cocktails for each of the key spirits. In addition, I really like how they only work with a few spirit brands. One drink that I think is really above all is the citronada which is a zero-waste cocktail using zest and juice from fruits not being used elsewhere in the kitchen.
Food wise, I loved the sharing boards in particular the beer bread was amazing. I also really loved the wild red prawn hot stick, the miso potatoes, the venison and the tuna ceviche. The chocolate tart dessert with hazelnut ice cream was an absolute winner. It tasted very Nutella like therefore was the perfect level of richness. Overall a fantastic way to finish the evening.
To sum up, I highly recommend Hicce. As a concept they are very imaginative and their menu is constantly changing so each time you go you can expect something slightly different. Also The team are amazing and super friendly. Can’t wait to go again soon!
