Bermondsey Street is home to many fantastic bars & restaurants. José tapas bar is an insane tapas bar by José Pizarro. Tucked away on a tiny street corner, José’s provides a very authentic Spanish tapas experience. With walk-ins only, you usually have to wait about 20 mins to get a table; however, it is the best tapas in London!
The menu gets written up on a chalkboard and changes daily. I absolutely love their croquetas, they melt in your mouth. Super crispy outside and cheesy inside. They sometimes do black squid ink ones, they are insane! I really love their fried goat cheese with honey, it is quite an indulgent one but really delicious. The patatas bravas, the bruschettas and the fish dishes are all favourites of mine too. The wine at José’s is fantastic, the staff are very knowledgeable and give great recommendations. Lastly, I obsess over their chocolate pot for dessert. It is a very rich small pot of chocolate with sea salt on top. A great way to finish a fantastic meal!
