London is an incredible city, and I love living here. I have been in this city for over 5 years. I’ve lived in a few different areas such as Battersea, Angel, Newham and London Bridge. Having moved around quite a bit, I’ve really come to appreciate the different characteristics of the various areas and neighbourhoods. It is this key aspect that I think makes London so special and unique. An evening in Kensington is very different from an evening in Shoreditch, for example.
London has a considerable amount of diversity which, I think, leads to the fantastic business flair and start-up culture. This start-up culture is no different in the food and drink industry. Each month there is a long list of new restaurant or bar openings. The street food scene really lends itself to new and upcoming food start-ups to trial and test their cuisine on a hungry audience before launching fully. The various markets also provide fantastic opportunities as a launchpad for new brands and new products. With all this, London has one of the strongest food and drink scenes in the world.
We are home to over 67 Michelin starred restaurants and over 15 Worlds Best Bars. The home of the West End, the afternoon tea and the invention of brunch. Not to mention all the museums, Art Galleries and parks. London is home to Fortnum & Masons, Harrods, Hamleys and Liberty’s, just a few iconic shops which people travel from around the world to see.
