Temper is a favourite of mine for cool vibes and amazing meaty dishes in London. With three locations now – Covent Garden, Soho & the City, they are growing fast as a brand. Temper is a unique, vibrant, whole animal barbecue restaurant with music, cocktails, an extensive wine list, and an open kitchen. In addition, Temper do an amazing Bottomless Barbecue weekend Brunch at their Covent Garden location. For just £35pp, you can enjoy a feasting platter of barbecued meats as well as bottomless summer drinks including mojitos, cosmopolitans, margaritas, Bloody Marys, wine and beer. Such an incredible bargain, how can you say no?
Six of us went for the brunch as it is best-enjoyed sharing with friends. The food was impressively served on a big plate, sharing style. As we booked ahead, we also received a complimentary jug of Pimms. Pimms is the perfect way to start brunch on a hot Saturday afternoon. I had the bottomless mojitos as my cocktail of choice for brunch, very refreshing.
The platter included aged rare-breed beef burgers with Emmental cheese in brioche buns. Served alongside old spot Cumberland sausages cooked in honey, chilli salt and sesame. As well as, adobo marinated free-range chicken served with kimchi slaw, burnt corn and a bowl of fries on the side. Temper is known for having delicious barbecued meats, and the platter definitely lived up to my expectations. I absolutely loved the sausages, and the burgers were so tasty, I really enjoyed all the food. The atmosphere in the restaurant was fantastic being busy with lots of large groups and a live DJ playing great tunes to further drive the fun vibe.
Overall, Temper is a fantastic place for great food and great drinks. The quality of the meats and interesting meat dishes makes it a very special concept—another cool, exciting addition to London’s remarkable food scene. I highly recommend this one, and I can’t wait to go back again soon!
