The Beau Brummell – Piccadilly

A fantastic gastropub on St James Market serving locally sourced and carefully crafted food and drink.

The Beau Brummell is a gorgeous gastropub in the heart of St James, around the corner from Piccadilly Circus in London. As part of the Cubitt House family, The Beau Brummell balances a pub floor with a relaxed but buzzing atmosphere. There is the mezzanine floor for a more relaxed and formal environment and the large outdoor terrace wrapping around the pub, right on the St James market.

I was invited to a fantastic dinner hosted by The Bea Brummell and Peroni UK. Peroni kick-started the evening with “The Venetian Mule” cocktail using Peroni beer. We had the UK Peroni ambassador talk us through what makes Peroni so special and remind us of how refreshing it is as a beer. The Peroni pints paired well with the food throughout the night.

The food was really impressive for a gastropub with great quality ingredients locally sourced and carefully crafted to make the delicious dishes that we savoured throughout the night. To start, I enjoyed the braised venison shoulder served inside a small pumpkin. The wild mushroom scotch egg, the slow-roasted pork belly, the beef tartare and the cured trout were each delicious. The braised beef short-rib pie was super tasty with melt in your mouth beef and buttery pastry. For dessert, I loved the signature skillet baked apple pie, they made mine dairy-free which was great with the dairy-free vanilla ice cream. The apples were the perfect balance between sweet and sour and the pie pastry was also crafted well to make it both stunning to look at but tasty to eat.

I highly recommend this place and I can’t wait to come back again in summer to check out the outdoor terrace.
