The Little Orange Door is a fantastic bar and restaurant located on Clapham Common south side. It is just a stone throw away from Clapham Common tube station. A venue that’s all about being a DJ-led house party combined with an intimate dinner party. Easy to spot by the bright orange door! From the moment you walk in, the decor is so beautiful. You feel like you are walking into someones home. I could spend hours exploring the various corners, and everywhere you look; you notice more and more detail. There is a doorway, a kitchen bar, a snug, a laundry room, a bath – basically everything you’d expect in a house. The communications are all signed off by “the flatmates” to bring the close friend feel to all the messaging. Come with three friends and leave with ten, socialising is a crucial part of the concept.
The Little Orange Door Food and Drink
Food-wise, they have fantastic bar snacks and weekend brunch dishes. There is the choice of poached eggs on toast or pancakes for brunch. You can pimp up the poached eggs on toast with salmon, avocado, bacon or chipotle beans. The pancakes come with either fried chicken, fruit and nuts or caramelised bananas. We went for the poached eggs on toast with avocado, bacon, chilli and coriander. The eggs were perfectly cooked with a vibrant runny yolk. The avocado was delicious and a nice texture with the fresh sourdough toast. Very satisfying and a perfect brunch dish. We also had the smoking hot thunder thigh pancakes with fried chicken, bacon and chilli maple butter honey. They were very indulgent and heavy with syrup, I recommend sharing as it is really enjoyable and another brilliant brunch dish.
Drinks-wise, they have an extensive wine list; however, their cocktails are insanely good. With both classic cocktails and cocktails inspired by classic favourite films. I particularly enjoyed the espresso martini and bloody mary cocktails. They offer bottomless brunch on both a Saturday and a Sunday. For just £18.50 per person, you can enjoy either bottomless house punch or prosecco for 90 minutes. I had the house punch, which is a mixture of rum and fresh fruit juice. It was refreshing and tasty and strong alcohol wise.
Overall, I am really excited about the Little Orange Door in Clapham. Everything about it is impressive; the food, the drinks, the staff are super friendly, and the decor is so incredible and really Instagrammable. The perfect location for a catch up with friends!
